Isaiah 60:9-22

New King James Version

⁹^(A)Surely the coastlands shall wait for Me;
And the ships of Tarshish will come first,
^(B)To bring your sons from afar,
^(C)Their silver and their gold with them,
To the name of the Lord your God,
And to the Holy One of Israel,
^(D)Because He has glorified you.

¹⁰“The^(E) sons of foreigners shall build up your walls,
^(F)And their kings shall minister to you;
For ^(G)in My wrath I struck you,
^(H)But in My favor I have had mercy on you.
¹¹Therefore your gates ^(I)shall be open continually;
They shall not be shut day or night,
That men may bring to you the wealth of the Gentiles,
And their kings in procession.
¹²^(J)For the nation and kingdom which will not serve you shall perish,
And those nations shall be utterly ruined.

¹³“The^(K) glory of Lebanon shall come to you,
The cypress, the pine, and the box tree together,
To beautify the place of My sanctuary;
And I will make ^(L)the place of My feet glorious.
¹⁴Also the sons of those who afflicted you
Shall come ^(M)bowing to you,
And all those who despised you shall ^(N)fall prostrate at the soles of your feet;
And they shall call you The City of the Lord,
^(O)Zion of the Holy One of Israel.

¹⁵“Whereas you have been forsaken and hated,
So that no one went through you,
I will make you an eternal excellence,
A joy of many generations.
¹⁶You shall drink the milk of the Gentiles,
^(P)And milk the breast of kings;
You shall know that ^(Q)I, the Lord, am your Savior
And your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.

¹⁷“Instead of bronze I will bring gold,
Instead of iron I will bring silver,
Instead of wood, bronze,
And instead of stones, iron.
I will also make your officers peace,
And your magistrates righteousness.
¹⁸Violence shall no longer be heard in your land,
Neither ^[a]wasting nor destruction within your borders;
But you shall call ^(R)your walls Salvation,
And your gates Praise.

God the Glory of His People

¹⁹“The ^(S)sun shall no longer be your light by day,
Nor for brightness shall the moon give light to you;
But the Lord will be to you an everlasting light,
And ^(T)your God your glory.
²⁰^(U)Your sun shall no longer go down,
Nor shall your moon withdraw itself;
For the Lord will be your everlasting light,
And the days of your mourning shall be ended.
²¹^(V)Also your people shall all be righteous;
^(W)They shall inherit the land forever,
^(X)The branch of My planting,
^(Y)The work of My hands,
That I may be glorified.
²²^(Z)A little one shall become a thousand,
And a small one a strong nation.
I, the Lord, will hasten it in its time.”

Water Turned to Wine

2 On the third day there was a ^(A)wedding in ^(B)Cana of Galilee, and the ^(C)mother of Jesus was there. ²Now both Jesus and His disciples were invited to the wedding. ³And when they ran out of wine, the mother of Jesus said to Him, “They have no wine.”

⁴Jesus said to her, ^(D)“Woman, ^(E)what does your concern have to do with Me? ^(F)My hour has not yet come.”

⁵His mother said to the servants, “Whatever He says to you, do it.”

⁶Now there were set there six waterpots of stone, ^(G)according to the manner of purification of the Jews, containing twenty or thirty gallons apiece. ⁷Jesus said to them, “Fill the waterpots with water.” And they filled them up to the brim. ⁸And He said to them, “Draw some out now, and take it to the master of the feast.” And they took it. ⁹When the master of the feast had tasted ^(H)the water that was made wine, and did not know where it came from (but the servants who had drawn the water knew), the master of the feast called the bridegroom. ¹⁰And he said to him, “Every man at the beginning sets out the good wine, and when the guests have well drunk, then the inferior. You have kept the good wine until now!”
